Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport offers unique sightseeing flights that let you see Maine’s famous coast from a whole new perspective, and everyone gets a window seat. The Sanford Mainers, part of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, bring it in historic Goodall Park—where Babe Ruth hit his final home run as a Boston Red Sox. 

Sanford’s pick-your-own farms are an excellent way for the whole family to get out and get hands-on with their food, take a hayride, or meet some friendly farm animals. Seasonal offerings include apples, strawberries, blueberries, and much more. The Sanford Farmers’ Market offers fresh produce and local crafts, and Sanford’s three homemade ice creameries are not to be missed!

Hometown Traditions

A tight-knit community, Sanford loves to share its hometown traditions with visitors. Showcasing the city’s proud history, The Sanford-Springvale Historical Society offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the historical and cultural impact of the textile industry on the area.

Sanford’s former textile mills now house a variety of businesses, including a salon and day spa. Across the street, Gateway Park is the perfect spot to watch the Independence Day fireworks set off over Number One Pond. Sanford’s downtown offers everything from locally created arts and crafts, to unique cards and gifts, to freshly baked donuts and sweet treats.

Sanford’s village of Springvale is home to Nasson Little Theatre, where you can enjoy home-grown productions of Broadway musicals and original theatrical pieces or take part in a murder mystery dinner. Enjoy a national touring performance at the Sanford Performing Arts Center.
